Florida Spring Break: Fort Myers Beach & Anna Maria
Day 3 of our Spring Break adventure took us to Fort Myers Beach. We spent time in Fort Myers Beach last year in February for an adults only long weekend, but it wasn't as busy as spring break time in March! We spent almost an hour trying to find a place to park, after calming down & finding a spot, we decided to walk to part of the beach near our car instead of miles away near the fishing pier and shops. We had a quiet spot that was perfect for the kids to play & spread out.
This is one of my favorite photos from the entire trip, it will be printed & framed! These are the moments that make it all worthwhile!
We went for a long walk down the beach to the fishing pier & to find some lunch. Daddy ended up being the taxi for most of the walk.
After our day at the beach, we headed back towards Sarasota to our hotel for the evening. We took a drive over to Longboat Key to watch the sunset & have fresh fish at the Dry Dock Grill.
This experience in my head was going to be magical and a highlight of our trip. This experience in real life wasn't that magical. Our bikes weren't in the best of shape, my daughter was getting overheated and had a hard time pedaling. We spent a lot of money and only biked for an hour! Whoops, lesson learned-Just because it was magical in the past with friends, doesn't mean it will necessarily be magical again with children involved.
Ahhhh....the beach. It felt so good to be back on the same beautiful beach that I was on last year on my Girls Trip to Anna Maria. The kids loved it and asked when we could come back! WIN!
As most of you know if you have traveled with small children, vacation isn't always rainbows & unicorns. There are going to be brief moments of whining, fighting, over tiredness and hunger from all members of the family. Ha! We had a great time overall on days 3 & 4 of spring break. The weather was amazing, the beaches were beautiful, we ate incredible food, slept great at our hotels and only had minor sunburns. One major lesson I learned, was to let go of some of my expectations and go with the flow, which is something I have a hard time doing at times.
I like to read posts from bloggers that are honest about what life is really like and I am sharing the same courtesy with you!
